Denver Outlaws July 4th Game Breaks MLL Attendance Record
7 Jul

Cannon's Attackman Ryan Boyle
The 4th of July in Denver has become somewhat of a lacrosse phenomenon where they have shattered the MLL attendance record for the last few seasons. In a league where the majority of teams are averaging under 4,000 fans per game, breaking the 21,000 mark is very impressive and a great success for the league.
Eight games into the MLL season, the Denver Outlaws still sit in first place with only two losses. One of those losses was to the 2nd place Boston Cannons on the 4th of July in front of a record-breaking crowd of 21,952 at Denver’s INVESCO Field at Mile High. The Cannons edged out Denver 18-17 in a hard fought game.
With just four games left in the season, each one will become increasingly important now that the league has contracted to six teams. Virtually everyone is in striking distance of the playoffs. The top four teams at the end of the season will battle for the Steinfeld Trophy in Annapolis, MD at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on August 22-23. One of the semi-final games, and the final championship game, will be televised on ESPN2.
