2009 Major League Lacrosse Rookie Report – Week 7

Rookie Point Leader, Zack Greer
The 2009 Major League Lacrosse freshmen class has been performing well since the NCAA draft at the end of May.
While none of the rookies have managed to break into the top 20 of league point leaders yet, many of them have been making significant impacts on the field.
Now entering their 7th week in the league, we’ll take a look at how the rookies are stacking up:
1) Zack Greer (Duke/Bryant) is leading the pack with an impressive 11 goals in four games played. He has tallied 13 points (1st among rookies/23rd in the league) for Long Island as the #3 draft pick in 2009.
2) Kenny Nims (Syracuse) was picked #1 in the draft by the Chicago Machine. So far Nims has played in five games, and has scored at least one point in every game. He has 11 points on the season, which is second among all rookies.
3) Dan Hardy (Syracuse) is proving to be an offensive threat after being picked #8 by the Denver Outlaws. Hardy picked up 3 points last week and is now third among all rookies with 8 points.
4) Brandon Corp (Colgate) was selected 4th in the draft by the Boston Cannons. Corp punched in 4 goals and 1 assist against Toronto last week bringing his season total to 8 points in four games.
5) Max Seibald (Cornell) has been solid at the midfield for the Denver Outlaws, after being chosen #2 in the 2009 draft. Seibald earned the Bud Light MVP in his first game played, and has 7 points on the season in five games.
6) Danny Glading (Virginia) was drafted 3rd by the Washington Bayhawks. The Virginia alum racked up five points last week in his 3rd MLL game. Hardy has 8 points on the season and is 6th among rookies.
Other notable rookies:
Defenseman Sid Smith (Syracuse) has played the most games of all rookies appearing in six games. Smith was drafted 6th overall, and has 14 ground balls on the season for the Toronto Nationals.
Rookie defensemen P.T. Ricci (Loyola) is tied with Smith after picking up 14 GB’s in four games for the Washington Bayhawks.
