“Crooked Arrows” Lacrosse Movie Update
6 May
Back in March, we wrote about a new lacrosse comedy movie in the works, called “Crooked Arrows”. The movie director has released some new information regarding the project:

It is an exciting time in the world of entertainment, with increased opportunities for independent financing, marketing, and distribution. Nationwide theatrical box office is still going strong despite an otherwise challenging economy. In fact, it is in this cultural climate that the appetite for feel-good movies thrives, and none is more beloved than the underdog sports movie.
From Bad News Bears to Hoosiers and Mighty Ducks, team sports movies are a mainstay of American cinema. The genre is among the most profitable and broadly appealing of all, spawning numerous box office hits, sequels, and movie franchises. This fertile niche includes movies about baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, even bobsledding (Cool Runnings)! Yet amazingly, there has never been a sports movie set in the world of lacrosse. Crooked Arrows will be the first.
Lacrosse has grown exponentially in America – an internationally – from a grade school level to high school level to a collegiate level. The NCAA championships were the second most attended event in all of college sports in 2008. Currently, lacrosse is ranked as the fastest growing sport in the U.S.
Crooked Arrows will be the first movie to feature the sport, tradition, and culture of lacrosse prominently and accurately. And we are going to do it right, with full-support from the pro leagues, lacrosse equipment brands, prep-schools and college programs.
We developed this script for years, and we love this story. This movie comes from the heart. We are determined to produce a top-quality, commercially successful, uplifting film which will make all those associated with it very proud.
